Long Road to 2030

It seems that humanity is reaching an impasse, technology has brought us together in ways unimaginable even fifty years ago but we have yet to catch up.

Politics has lost its way.

[Manifesto] [Plan] [UK Party]

The Plan

The plan is global in reach but local in action. The aim is to provide a set of tools and resources to enable local groups who wish to make a difference to do so, while having connections to the broader movement.

A comprehensive review of all regulations will take place, we believe that proffesionals should be trusted to manage themselves and propose to streamline all services by flattening management structures and remove bureaucracy.

This plan is a work in progress, and also a collaborative process. All points should refer to the manifesto, please feel free to contribute ideas and corrections.

Structure

The proposed structure is in some ways similar to existing systems, with the exception that responsibility is fed back to local government for taxing and distributing funds.

Tax

We don’t like taxes. Taxes remove power from the people. However in order to fund education, health and economic development there is a need that there is some income.

It is suggested that income is taxed for national purposes, a fixed percentage is fed into the regional governance and a fixed percentage of that is fed into national level government.

The income tax should be streamlined, we propose rolling national insurance into a new tax regime which is fair. However we recognize that the legal challenges for tax reform are immense.

Work

In line with the manifesto we will require companies to pay overtime at a 1.5x rate minimum. Companies may not offer time-off-in-lieu. Zero hour contracts will be phased out. We will be creating a new Employment department soley devoted to employee needs with powers to fine or close companies and directors for breaches. There will be a new working time regulation which will stipulate the hours structures available to companies and the minimum wage requirements. Exceptions to the structures will be considered on a case-by-case basis which must be applied for and will be required to be noted on any job advertising.

Health Service

We believe the Health Service is one of the best (if not the best) in the world, it has been suffering from chronic underinvestment and overmanagement. Our policy is simple: allow health professionals to manage themselves. There will be no more targetting or quotas. We want to make the NHS the number one in the world.

Education

We believe that the education system has been mismanaged and is overly academic. Teachers have far too much workload and far too little control. We propose to formally require schools to provide time during the day for admin aside from teaching work, with allowances made for employing expert assistants for marking, preparing lesson materials etc. as required. We will make the teaching profession return to focusing on bringing the children up to the best of their abilities and remove any targetting and over testing. Vocational qualifications and apprenticeships will be made equivalent to an academic route.

Defence

We do believe in maintaining a keen and sharp force for defence, however we strongly believe that waging war in other countries who pose no direct threat is completely unacceptable.

Agriculture & Countryside

A strong farming and custodianship

Trade

Immigration

We are not opposed to people who offer skills, ideas and investment and who wish to settle in our beautiful country and make it their home. However it is important to balance access to healthcare, education and support. We will propose a 9 month period before free access will be given, and only for
